I am a Catholic. I live in the west of Scotland. I am descended from Irish immigrants. Why do you have such a major problem with this?

I was brought up in the fishbowl of Glasgow supporting Rangers and could not understand all the bigotry around me. I now couldn't care less about the religious background behind any supporter at a football game.
I am embarrassed by all the ignorant, intolerant 90min racists that feel it is acceptable to abuse a religion in the context of a football game. Both Rangers and Celtic fans.

I don't have a problem with that your question seems to imply that all Rangers fans are either bigoted or have problems with people who either Catholic or descended from the Irish. This isn't true although there are songs sung at Ibrox that would be offensive to Catholics. however it cuts both ways Rangers fans are always tarred with the bigots brush, Celtic fans are just as bigoted if not more so in their choice of songs, e.g. Boys of the Old Brigade a song about the IRA, not really a footie song, and one which glorifies the killing of both Protestanrs and the British. bigotry is a disease but to target Rangers fans and imply that we have the problem is a bit niave really.

I think you are generalising too much here. You cannot accuse all Rangers fans of being anti-irish and anti-catholic.
My family is originally from ireland. Im a rangers fan.
Yes there are rangers fans who will call you allsorts, just look at one of the answers, but then celtic fans are just as bad. Get the chip off your shoulder, youre not being too helpful by tarring all rangers fans with the same brush.

rangers are a very proud club we are proud of our scots/british/protestant history.and always will be.but i am in no way a bigot.we have people from all races and religions at ibrox and all are welcome.why is it that catholics are always claiming to be victims?when they are the biggest bigots known to mankind?and it all starts at 5 when they insist on seperate schools. you my friend need to put your own house in order.
