I am not a conspiracy theorist but I am a firm believer that the Kirin Cup was an opportunity to blood uncapped players into the international stage with nothing to lose, would Alexander, Teal, Boyd etc. have been given the opportunity to be in the squad never mind to shine for their nation if Marshall and co were taken to japan.

I for one thank Celtic for not letting their players go to Japan, I have now seen evidence the national team is on the up since the magician that is Walter Smith has taken charge.

I think it was a good thing as we don't want to show off our secret weapons for the up-coming Euro Championship. Just imagine the talent of Riordan, Maloney, Caldwell, Miller, Wilson, McManus and Marshall all playing week in and week out together..and then all playing for the National team..what chance will the other european teams Have? Nae Chance Jimmy..

Are you suggesting that the inclusion of Celtic players in a Scotland squad is bad for morale?

If you are, then I think you'll find support from the SFA given that Jimmy Johnstone only won 23 caps for his country.
